Hugh Williams Primrose was one of six sons born to William Stuart Primrose and Ella Williams Primrose. He was born January 21, 1878 and died January 27, 1904. Prior to attending Eastman Business College, Poughkeepsie, N.Y., in 1898, Ward worked as an accountant in Spring Hope, N.C.
